A review on gradient macroporous ceramic via powder-based direct foaming process

Macroporous ceramics are potentially applicable in a wide range of industrial applications. The porous structure macroporous is designed depending on the application ceramics. This paper reviews gradient fabricated via powder-based direct foaming to produce relatively dense surface and highly body. fabrication process characterization such also considered. In terms fabrication, an overview direct-foaming conditions obtain uniform described. With regard characterization, unique effect denser bending strength summarized through results microstructural observation three-point measurements. presence layer enables improvement while maintaining high porosity. processes reviewed herein promising for reducing weight enhancing their mechanical strength.
